Break O’Day, later called Corindhap, featured in Shot for Gold: the murder of Thomas Ulick Burke on the Woady Yaloak Goldfield – a fascinating reconstruction from many original records of this murder which resulted in two executions. Details are now part of the Geelong & District Database.

Geelong and District 
Great website and work! I just wanted to register I’m researching the McShane family – Michael McShane butcher Geelong 1850s onwards and the hotel at Little River, married Anne Vaughan. I haven’t been able to find his death. His son Joseph had a son (dr) Cletus whom I’m writing about. Trove hasn’t come up with a lot but I note Michael appears in a few books. I just live too far away to gain access.

Hi Lina, Cletus McShane, son of Joseph McSHANE and Josephine RYAN died in 1935 in Queensland. His death certificate is available for purchase there. The clue was in the Australian Digitised Newspapers where there was an advertisement re his death and widow – died intestate.
